Kimolos enthralled me for many reasons. One of them was the tastes.
Wherever we ate, the protagonist was the tradition and the local products.
So, today I’d like to propose you the best spots of the island where you can enjoy food and drink.
THE BEST SPOTS FOR FOOD
“The tavern of Sardi”
Or Bebas as it is known. It is located in Aliki. Just 50 metres from the homonymous beach and is a family business.
Beba Sardi (the mum of the family) and her husband have worthy partners their son and daughter in law who competes her mother in law in cooking.
We tasted fresh mussels, pies, grilled octopus, delicious shrimp’s spaghetti and linguini with crayfish.
I think the restaurant is well-deserved known thanks to the family environment and the service. However the “trademark” is the smile of the Sardi family!

“Kali Kardia” (The good heart)
It is located in one of the picturesque alleys of the Village close to the square. There, you can savour delicious traditional tastes. Also the portions are very substantial.
It operates for three generations now and it still keeps the same style of the traditional tavern-café.
In Kali Kardia we also danced as we had the chance to choose songs from an old jukebox which worked perfectly.
Kali Kardia is well known thanks to the cooked dishes and its owner. Mr. Apostolis will attend you personally and will propose you alternative ways to wash down the dishes you have chosen.

“Meltemi View & Tastes”
It was for me the big surprise of Kimolos. It is located at the edge of the village and the view from there is amazing.
Avgoustis Galanos took over the tavern from his parents and being himself a chef decided to lead the business at a special and modern level.
Here, the young and promising chef Avgoustis, is giving his best and creates unique dishes engaging the tradition with gourmet.
He is helpful, smiling; he loves his work and gives his heart at his creations.
I won’t forget the salad with water melon and quinoa, the brouschetta with fava beans and marinated anchovies as well as his delicious doughnuts.

“To Kima” (The wave)
It is located in Psathi and its tables are all over the beach in front of the sea. I guess this is the reason they call it like this.
The night that we spent there we enjoyed except of the amazing delicacies a wonderful full moon which lighted the sea and the night became magical!
And here we have a family business too. It goes from one generation to the other. At Kima you can taste fresh fish, but you can also enjoy dishes with meat and cooked dishes. All are perfectly made.

It is located at the edge of the port in Psathi.
It’s ideal during the whole day. Here, you can enjoy your breakfast, your lunch or your dinner. You can enjoy even a drink.
It belongs to Mr.Apostoli, the owner of “Kali Kardia” and is located at the Village.
In Postali, we enjoyed our lunch before we left from Kimolos. The place is very beautiful and pleasant and gives you the ability to see the entrance of the port and the arrival of the ship you’re waiting.
