When choosing a hotel, I try to avoid staying right in the center of cities, and opt rather for the ones in a reasonable distance from it. Under this criteria I chose Sarroglia Hotel in my latest visit to Bucharest.
Τhe hotel is located in Strada Vasile Lascăr 59, only 15′ of walking distance from the center, in a calm area away from the noise of the city. In case you do not wish to walk there, commuting is very easy. There is a tram stop just outside and the busses under number 5 or 16 will take you straight to the heart of Bucharest after only 4 stops. If nothing of the above suits you, there is always the option for a taxi in a really small price. Just to give you an idea of the costs, consider that for a ride from the airport to the hotel, a distance of about 18km, I paid 27 leu, something like about 6 euros.
Modern, full of light, clean and with very polite stuff, hotel Sarroglia makes the perfect choice for accommodation in Bucharest.
The rooms are spacious (very spacious actually), welcoming and perfectly equipped for a comfortable stay. The high-quality mattress in the room guarantees a restful sleep. And if you happen to travel there during the winter like I did, you will find great pleasure in pulling the curtains in the morning and viewing the brightness of the snowed scenery.
The bathroom is also big, comfortable and modern with a wooden floor that dominates throughout the rest of the room too. Wonderfully equipped with all amenities, bathrobes, slippers, toiletries, hair dryer and even some extra products that make life easier like pumice, sewing kit, file and cotton balls.
There is room service every day and I was happy to return to my room after a long day to find it clean and tackled with fresh new towels like the first day.
BREAKFAST AT SARROGLIA
I fell in love with the breakfast lounge. Two halls, connected to each other, decorated with big arched ceilings on top that added a very special style to the area. The buffet included everything required to call the breakfast a very rich one. Even the cook was available on the spot to prepare for the guests some freshly fried eggs.
Sarroglia Hotel in Bucharest is a unique and elegant place. The minimal and modern decoration along with the wooden details give it a warm, welcoming feeling. All these elements combined with a really cheerful and helpful personnel guarantee an unforgettable stay to the visitor.

* I was honoured to be a guest in Serroglia Hotel, but as always all opinions in this article are my own.
